The parents of a 14-year-old girl have been left with an enormous bill after their daughter used a stolen credit card to rent a house and host a house party. The owner of the home has agreed to not seek criminal damages as the parents of the girl have already stated that they are willing to cover the cost of any future repairs.
The girl used her mother’s credit card to rent the house using an online service. Afterwards police were called to an “out of control” house party held at the 2400-block of Ottawa in West Vancouver on March 9th. When they arrived they found over 200 teenagers “flooding” out of the property. There were also open containers that confirmed suspicions alcohol had been involved.
“We were receiving multiple calls … reporting a large-scale disturbance,” said Constable Palmer of West Vancouver police. “Officers attending had basically swarms of teenagers leaving the house.
“Among all the damage, there were a number of containers indicating that alcohol had certainly been a part of the gathering.”

She rented a house in B.C. with her parents' credit card (without them knowing).
The invite was for 40 people, but about 200 showed up.
Guess what happened next.https://t.co/eWO7iqAdJt
Apparently, the damage to the house including the furniture, walls, and floor amounted to over $20,000. They have agreed to cover the damages and there won’t be any criminal ramifications but we certainly doubt that 14-year-old girl is going to be having an easy time during the next few weeks.
In 2008 one Australian boy achieved internet fame after he threw an enormous house party that, through the power of Myspace (remember that?) and social media, exploded in popularity. In the end the 16-year-old wound up with over 500 people attending his home and causing over $20,000 in damages. In the end police helicopters were called out and numerous officers had to be brought in to bring it to an end. The best part was the boy’s follow-up interview on national TV where one reporter, expecting him to be contrite and sorry, was shocked to find that Corey, a 16-year-old boy, didn’t actually give that much of a f*ck.
