Crowdfunding is great…ish. It can be pretty good sometimes. It gave us the Oculus Rift, Minecraft, affordable 3D printers, and the 3Doodler. Well, that stuff was cool at least. There are a lot more scams than legitimate product out there though. Laser razors, mini-drones the size of your palm, a device that lets you breathe under water by filtering oxygen; these and many more have all turned out to be great big scams without an ounce of truth behind their claims. But all of them raised a lot of money anyway. Turns out that anyone with access to Google images can put up stolen pictures of a jetpack, or make up some sob story about explosive death-flu, and go to the internet cap in hand to beg for money.
Well, not all beggars are created equal. We thought it’d be funny to go out there and round up the worst, laziest and most stupidly hilarious attempts to get money from strangers on the internet. We guarantee you’ll feel a little better yourself and your life after reading this list!
