A man has been taken into custody and held there on Saturday after he recorded and posted two videos of him forcing his two children, aged 2 and 3 years old into a dryer before turning it on. In the clips the children can be seen bouncing around the inside of the dryer and are audibly screaming during the ordeal.
Ryan James Barr, aged 24, then posted the video to Snapchat where it was seen by a teacher at McNinch Primary School in Moundsville who reported the video to police. Ryan has since been arrested and is still being held in police custody for child neglect, with his bail set at $50,000.
The local sheriff told press that one of the children could be heard screaming as the door was shut behind them. Meanwhile it has been revealed that Ryan told the arresting officers that he put the children into the dryer “because he was trying to teach him to not be scared.”
It was also revealed that the children’s mother was upstairs in the shower while the incident took place, and that when she emerged she found that a friend had contacted her to tell her that the video had been posted using her snapchat. Ryan later handed himself into police on Tuesday.

The two videos showed the 3-year-old girl climbing into the dryer, something she often did. However, in order to discourage her Ryan shut the door behind her and turned the dryer on, which prompted the young girl to start screaming in fear.
In the second clip Ryan can be seen pushing his 2-year-old son into the dryer from the beginning. The child, who is clearly afraid, is trying to get out, but Ryan shuts the door and turns the dryer on anyway. In both clips the children react as you might expect, with utter fear and panic at the experience.
It has not been revealed if the two children were injured or harmed as a result of their time in the dryer, but the emotional impact alone must’ve been quite horrible. It also remains unknown what Ryan’s wife, the children’s mother, thinks of her husband’s behaviour.
