Fans are gearing up for one of the biggest episodes in The Big Bang Theory’s history as Amy and Sheldon get ready to tie the knot in their upcoming nuptials.
The episode signifies a huge point of interest in the arc of everyone’s favourite geek-culture icon, Sheldon Cooper, who began the show as a stubborn, awkward, funny, but ultimately very difficult man who loathed the idea of traditional relationships. Now… well he’s still stubborn, awkward, and funny, but fans have watched as he’s grown and made considerable efforts in his relationship with Amy.
And it all comes to a head tonight when the pair will finally wed. Meanwhile, people have been getting incredibly excited about which guest stars have gotten the RSVP to attend the wedding.
The Big Bang Theory, which has always been known for a star-studded cast of guests—both in and out of character—now has the perfect opportunity to bring so many of these people together for this season finale.
Amongst those confirmed to appear we have Bill Gates, Stephen Hawking, Wil Wheaton, and Dean Norris (best known as Hank from Breaking Bad for those unfamiliar with the actor) will all be making return cameos in the episode.
Meanwhile, Neil Gaiman—famous author of Stardust, Sandman, Good Omens, and American Gods—is also set to appear in the episode which is sure to get many fans excited. Although, we don’t think any of these hold a candle to the following who will be making his first ever appearance on the show.
It’s Mark Hamill! Everyone’s favourite Jedi who has been an incredible part of geek-culture for decades ever since he was cast as the young and impressionable Luke Skywalker in the original A New Hope. Since then Mark has also made a living playing The Joker in numerous animated and video game adaptations—and even occasionally pipping out Heath Ledger as all time fan-favourite Joker—he also recently returned to his role as Luke in The Last Jedi.
The cantankerous and curmudgeonly old man was quite a far cry from the wide-eyed Luke we saw years ago, but Mark still nailed the performance.
Meanwhile there have been fleeting rumours that a number of other cameos have been left off the cast list just so they’ll really surprise everyone when they appear.
There are rumours Elon Musk may reappear, along with George Takei, and possibly even Stan Lee. Of course, these are just rumours so don’t go holding your breath!
