Since day one, Laura Anderson has been plagued with speculation that she's older than she claimed in her application to be on Love Island. She's officially the oldest girl on the island at 29, but fans think she looks even older and she's been referred to by some as 'Liv's mum', a reference to the Islander Olivia Atwood who dated Chris Hughes in last year's show. The debate is over, though, because MailOnline only bloody went and applied for a copy of her birth certificate from Stirling, Scotland. It confirms that Laura was born in 1989, to parents Barbara and David, in the early hours of 23 April, but the birth was not registered until two weeks later on 5 May. She wasn't lying!
The jury's out on whether the news will be a welcome bombshell for eagle-eyed viewers who have been pretty insistent that the air hostess was lying about her age, but we're sure it would go down well with Wes, who she coupled up with on day one and has been growing closer to every day since. The pair have been the strongest couple of the season so far, attracted to each other straight away and openly affectionate with one another around the pool and in bed despite their 9 year age difference. In last night's episode, they even talked about marriage (eek) and realised that they were both on the same page looking for a real long term love through the show and not just a verified Instagram account.
They could be on the rocks, though, with last night's entry of two new guys to house and one of them apparently catching Laura's eye. In the preview for tonight's episode, Laura can be seen describing newcomer Josh as 'exactly my type' and he apparently picks her for his first date with a girl since he arrived. After her argument with Wes last night where she worried for the first time that he might be too emotionally immature for her, could this be it for the couple? Wes told Eyal that Hayley had been bitching about him behind his back, after she confided in him and Laura to say that kissing him "made her feel sick" and that his breathing was driving her crazy - leading to the biggest argument in the villa to date. Wes came out of it the bad guy, but the internet is divided about whether he did the right thing. We think he was just being a loyal friend #JusticeForWes
