Ant McPartlin has reportedly moved across London into a new rented £4.5m mansion, after splitting from his wife of twelve years. It's understood that Ant and Lisa were neighbours of Dec and his wife Ali, but since their troubled break-up he has moved out of the property and rented one close by so he can stay in contact with Dec during his recovery. Recently, however, removal vans were pictured at his current rental property and seen taking Ant's things to a new rental in a more quiet area, thought to be a gated residence in South West London. The rent on the property is £12,000 a month, and Ant has settled down there to continue his rehabilitation after what has been a troubled year for the star.
The Sun are reporting that the property boasts a games room with a pool table, a separate flat for guests and a private bar, though he probably won't be visiting that much after the car accident he was involved in back in March. The TV presenter has struggled with an addiction to prescription painkillers and alcohol since an operation to his knee in 2015, and has so far undergone two stints in rehab in June of last year and March of 2018. He was also involved in a car accident where it was found that he had been drink-driving, and he was fined £86,000 and banned from driving for 20 months. He's suspended all of his presenting duties since the incident, leaving his partner Dec to finish the run of their hit series 'Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway'.
A source close to the star has said that the move was taken with his long-term recovery in mind, telling The Sun: "He needs somewhere quiet and private a bit out of the way to help him focus on his recovery. The new place is exactly that. It will help with his treatment and give him some space away from the limelight.” Living away from his best friend for the first time, questions have been asked about whether the pair have grown apart and that they might never return to the screen together. Sources close to the pair have indicated that Ant's recovery is continuing in leaps and bounds and that he might even be able to present the next season of I'm A Celebrity in a few months. Fingers crossed, we'd hate to see them stop working together.
