Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson are reportedly engaged, after going public with their relationship last month. Ariana, superstar pop icon, broke up with her ex-boyfriend rapper Mac Miller after two years of dating, and the split appeared to be quite acrimonious with both Grande and Miller tweeting to blame the other for the breakdown. Ariana put a statement out after Mac was involved in a car accident while intoxicated, saying it was unfair to blame his issues on her and explaining that she had stayed with him through his troubles for several months until finally leaving. SNL's Davidson, too, was in a long term relationship with the daughter of comedian Larry David, Cazzie David, until just last month and there has been some speculation that there might have been some overlap between the two women.
Ariana and Pete have been very public with their relationship since announcing it in an Instagram post two weeks ago, posting snaps of the couple in Harry Potter themed Hogwarts robes with their corresponding houses on. Ariana is a hardcore fan of the series, with a tattoo of one of the famous spells from the books and a dog named after Harry's Godfather, Sirius Black. They have also been commenting on one another's photos with love eyes emojis, and constantly tweeting back and forth, but Pete took it to the next level last week (again, after just one week of dating) by getting two tattoos as a tribute to the singer. He got her initials tattooed on his finger, and pink bunny ears behind his left ear, a symbol that has become synonymous with the pop singer after being used on her single 'Dangerous Woman'.
Now a source close to the couple had revealed that they have become engaged after Pete popped the question last weekend, and they're not hiding it either. They are said to have attended Robert Pattinson's birthday party on Sunday and told everyone their good news. The source told People Magazine: "They are a perfect fit. Their friends are really excited and supportive. Their moms have met. They've been very public with their relationship on social media, and they are very in love. They are looking forward to a very long engagement together." A fan tweeted Ariana to congratulate her on her news, but reminding her to tell Pete that he's marrying into the fanbase too. The singer tweeted back "HAHAHAHAHAHH HES BEEN BRIEFED", seeming to suggest that the rumours are indeed true and the couple are set to marry. Pete has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, which means he suffers from emotional instability and forges intense but unstable relationships with others quickly. It also means he's prone to impulsive behaviour.
